A
episodic agitation, insomnia, psychosis ( ex: delusion about the CIA) change in behavior and signs of sympathetic hyperactivity ( mydriasis, tachycardia, htn, diaphoresis) with subsequent return to baseline functioning.

A
clinical, a positive toxicology screen can be supportive.

false positive for amphetamines on urine toxicology testing
A
decongestant pseudoephedrine and the antidepressants bupropion and selegiline.

opoid withdrawal (oxycodone)
A
muscle spasm, joint pain, nausea and vomiting, diarrrhea, abdominal cramps, rhinorrhea, lacrimation and sweating. irritability, mydriasis and htn may occur. lasts 3 - 5 days. no delusion.
