contraindications

known hypersensitivity to amiodarone or iodine, cardiogenic shock, sinus bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block (if no pacemaker) and severe sinus node dysfunction

adult dose

Answer 2

for a dead adult 300mg IV/IO push. 2nd dose (after 3-5 mins) is 150 mg push then move on to another antiarrhythmic. Alive adult: 150 mg over 10 mins

pediatric dose

dead pedi: 5mg/kg, can repeat up to 15mg/kg or max of 300 mg. Alive Pedi: 5 mg/kg over 20 mins and can repeat up to 15 mg/kg
