The draft: 18-45 y/o men liable for service, 18-65 forced to register, 12 month service, 10 million drafted

Bought by civilians to allow military to purchase supplies and rations
Role of Propaganda (Rosie the Riveter)
Push people to buy into the war. Rosie: raise women’s spirits and get them to join war force.
Victory Gardens
People grew gardens to create food supply for selves so they didn’t need to use their rations for the armies.
Rationing
Fixed # of something given to someone, books/stamps used to purchase items with cloth, metal, rubber, and gasoline so the rest could be used for warfront
Bracero Program
Mexican migrant workers come to US to work in fields and agriculture. Little money and harsh conditions
Executive Order 9066
Interment of Japanese Americans from the West US to the South West. 110000-120000 interned.
