Induction System
Fixed pitch controls engine power with the throttle and monitors engine speed in rpm.
Constant Speed prop sets the engine power output with throttle which is measured on manifold pressure gauge. And prop control sets the rpm
Carb
Mixes incoming air with fuel and delivers it to the combustion chamber.
Venturi increases velocity and decreases pressure.
Most susceptible to icing at @70F and humidity above 80 percent
Fuel Injection
Increased efficiency, lower fuel consumption, increased horsepower, lower operating temps, and longer engine life.
Fuel Injection operation
- Electric fuel pump feeds the fuel control unit for starting or emergencies.
- After starting engine driven fuel pump takes over.
- Fuel control unit meters the fuel based upon mixture control settings and sends it to the manifold.
- Fuel then flows to the fuel discharge nozzles located in each cylinder head.
5 .Air is mixed with fuel and injected into each intake port.
Magneto
Engine drive unit that provides electrical to the spark plugs. Two magnetos with separate set of wires and spark plugs to enhance safety and increase reliability.
Low wing fuel system
- Strainer, Electrim pump, Engine Driven Pump, Fuel Control Unit
Alternator
Engine driven and provides electrical power
Battery
Provides power to start engine and source of standby power.
Ammeter
Shows the charging rate of the battery
Loadmeter
Shows load placed on the alternator
Masterswitch
Controls the entire electrical system except for the ignition system.
