Which lights are powered by the battery bus?
Dome/Storm lights and Boarding lights
What does the EMER LTS DISARM caution mean?
The emergency lights switch is in the off position. Will not activate if power lost to R SEC bus
What causes activation of the EMER LTS
Loss of power to the R SEC bus or manual activation by pilots or cabin crew
Can the F/A activate the EMER LTS if there is power to the aircraft and the cockpit switch is in the off position?
Yes as long as there is power to her switch (ESS Bus)
Whereis the light switch for the baggage compartment?
above and fwd of the REEC
When will the baggage compartment lights come on automatically?
when there is power to the lights (APU or GPU) and the door is open
What happens to PA power when EMER LTS activate?
The 7th Nicad backup battery switches the power source to the Battery bus. only the CAPT and FA can make PA’s
Why is the taxi light turned off when the gear is up?
To prevent interferance with the infrared beam for alternate gear advisory lights.
What is the last thing to check before leaving the cockpit after shutdown?
Dome lights off
Do we have pulse and approach lights on in the day?
No, usually pulse only
how are the EMER lights powered?
6x 6.4Vdc Nicad Batteries in the roof, kept charged by the RSEC bus
How long will the EMER LTS be powered for in an emergency?
20mins
Can we activate the EMER lights without power to the aircraft?
Only if the panel has power (solenoid switch)
What lights are referred to as the EMER lights?
Exit sign lights, Floor lights, escape path lights (overhead)
