19
Q

What dampens the main entry door during opening?

A

Trapped hydraulic fluid in actuator

20
Q

A

When depressed, it prevents the door from closing

21
Q

What is the primary electrical system the EMED uses to open/close?

A

Secondary Power Distribution System (SPDS) for control and power switching.

22
Q

Which hydraulic system closes the door?

A

Pressure from the Left System, PTU (with Engines running), or Aux Pump. If closed with AUX pump, the pump will automatically shut off when door
closes and latches.

23
Q

Can you open the EMED from the cockpit with Main Batteries turned OFF?

A

No. The Door Open switch requires ESS DC power from main batteries.

24
Q

Can you close the EMED with Fwd E-Batt power only?

A

No. Must have ESS DC power from Main Batteries.
To get ESS power, either the Main Batts have to be ON in COP, or “External Batteries” turned on in Security/GND Service Panel.

25
Q

Can you close the EMED from the Cockpit?

A

No. Crew can only open EMED from DOOR OPEN switch on COP.

26
Q

What are the requirements for erasing the CVR?

A

Aircraft must be stationary with EMED open and WOW system in ground mode.

30
Q

What is Gulfstream’s guidance on how to perform a takeoff?

A

Smoothly rotate to 9° in 3-4 seconds. Maintain 9° pitch until it is necessary to adjust pitch and capture desired climb out airspeed.

31
Q

What dampens main entry door during opening?

A

Trapped fluid in actuator

32
Q

What happens when outside door switch is selected to CLOSE?

A

Circuit energizes to CLOSE provided EXTERNAL BATTERY switch is selected ON, aux pump operates, and the door closes. Once the door is closed and electrically latched, circuit deenergizes, aux pump shuts off, and EXTERNAL BATTERY is selected to OFF

33
Q

What’s the purpose of DOOR SAFETY switch?

A

When depressed, it prevents the door from closing.

34
Q

What is the approach speed ‘break’ between Cat C and Cat D to determine which minimums to use?

A

140 kts

Cat C: 121-140
Cat D: 141-165

FYI
EASA Cat C <=180kts
