What is the deck position - “on the spot”
on the grid, Deck lock engaged, Lashing as required
What is the deck position - “Fly one”
The wildcat is parked partially in the hangar to protect it from adverse weather
What is the deck position - “Fly two”
Halfway between spot and hangar, blades at 45 degrees
Name the wildcat alerts states and their meaning
Alert 45+ - Aircraft is deemed under maintenance
Alert 45 - Aircraft should normally be at Alert 45. Ship not at flying stations and the aircrew will be stood down. Hands to Flying Stations will be piped when it is neccessary to launch the aircraft
Alert 30 - Ship will be at flying station but may be relaxed at command discretion. Aircraft will be in the hangar. Aircrew are briefed and dressed but free to move aroudn the ship. Can be maintained for 12hrs.
Alert 15 - Ship will be at flying station but may be relaxed at command discretion. Aircraft will be at FLY ONE to provide shelter. Aircrew are briefed and dressed but free to move around the ship. This can be maintained for 12 hours.
Alert 5 - Ship is at flying stations. Aircraft will be on the spot. External power and Telebrief connected. Aircrew will be in the aircraft. Can be maintained for 2 hrs but must be follwed by a flight.
Name the Merlin alert states and their definitions
Alert 60+ - Aircraft is deemed to be under maintenance.
Alert 60 - Aircraft moved from hangar to flight deck as required to achive launch. Can be maintained indefinitely. Aircrew briefed 60 minutes prior to launch.
Alert 30 - Aircraft spread an on the spot. Aircrew briefed and dressed but free to move around the ship. Ship at flying stations. Time limit of 12 hours at a time.
Alert 15 - On deck spread (APU running). Aircrew manned up in aircraft. Time limit of 2 hours at a time.
