Air conditioning/pressurisation panel Flashcards
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
DUAL BLEED light (amber)
illuminated
APU bleed air valve open AND
-No. 1 Engine BLEED air switch ON
or
-No. 2 Engine BLEED air switch ON + isolation valve open
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
ISOLATION VALVE switch
auto operation
closes valve if both engine BLEED air switches are ON and both air conditioning PACK switches are AUTO or HIGH
opens automatically if either engine BLEED air or air conditioning PACK switch OFF
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
WING-BODY OVERHEAT light (amber)
left light illuminated
overheat from bleed air duct leak in
- left engine strut
- left inboard wing leading edge
- left air conditioning bay
- keel beam
- APU bleed air duct
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
WING-BODY OVERHEAT light (amber)
right light illuminated
overheat from bleed air duct leak in
- right engine strut
- right inboard wing leading edge
- right air conditioning bay
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
Engine BLEED AIR switches
ON
opens engine bleed air valve WHEN ENGINE IS OPERATING
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
BLEED TRIP OFF light (amber)
illuminated
Excessive bleed air temp or press
related engine bleed air valve closes automatically
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
ZONE TEMP Lights (amber)
CONT CAB illuminated
FWD CAB or AFT CAB illuminated
Illuminated on recall
CONT CAB: duct overheat or failure of flight deck primary and sby temperature control
FWD/AFT CAB: duct overheat
on recall:
CONT CAB: failure of either flight deck primary or sby temperature control
FWD/AFT CAB: failure of associated zone temp control
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
Air Conditioning PACK Switch
AUTO operation
Both packs operating - both packs regulate to low flow
One pack operating - operating pack regulates to high flow in flight with flaps up
Operating one pack from APU (both engine BLEED air switches OFF) - regulates to high flow
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
Air Conditioning PACK Switch
HIGH operation
pack regulates to high flow
provides maximum flow rate on ground with APU BLEED air switch ON.
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
RECIRC FAN Switches
Auto operation
In flight-
left recirc fan operates if both packs are operating unless either PACK switch is in HIGH
right recirc fan operates if both packs are operating unless BOTH pack switches are in HIGH
On ground-
left recirc fan operates unless both PACK switches are in HIGH
right recirc fan operates even if both PACK switches are in HIGH
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
PACK Light (amber) illuminated
pack trip off (due over temperature) or failure of both primary and standby pack controls
On recall:
failure of either primary or standby pack control
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
Cabin pressurisation panel
AUTO FAIL Light (amber)
automatic pressurisation system failure detected
single controller failure if ALTN light is also illuminated
dual controller failure if illuminated alone
Illuminates if any of the following occur:
- Loss of DC Power
- Controller fault
- Outflow valve control fault
- Excessive diff pressure (>8.75psi)
- Excessive rate of cabin pressure change (+-2000fpm)
- High cabin altitude (15,800ft)
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
Cabin pressurisation panel ALTN light (green)
press system operating in alternate automatic mode
if both ALTN and AUTO FAIL lights illuminated, indicates single controller failure and automatic transfer to ALTN mode
or
press mode selector in ALTN position
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
TRIM AIR switch ON
- causes both packs to be controlled by the zone with the lowest temperature setting (balanced mode)
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
CONT CAB Temperature selector position OFF
AIR CONDITIONING & PRESSURISATION PANEL
- Closes cockpit trim air modulating valve
- the packs will then be controlled to satisfy the lowest temperature demand of the two passenger cabins
