Q

Explain the Scientific Procedure.

A

The first step in an experiment is usually phrased as a question it is called the problem

Your predicted answer is called you’re hypothesis

The list of supplies is called your materials

Step-by-step instructions is called your
Procedure

Sight taste touch hearing and smell to observe what is happening is called your observations

The answer to your problem and the conclusion to an inference is called your conclusion

Q

What are the properties of air

A

1 AIR IS A MIXTURE OF INVISIBLE GASES~ air is a mixtures of invisible gases. 78% is nitrogen, 21% is oxygen, 1% is argon carbon dioxide etc.

  1. AIR HAS WEIGHT~ air presses on things. This is called astronomic pressure or air pressure. Air presses things down, up and even sideways
  2. AIR HAS KINETIC ENERGY~ Air particles are constantly moving and colliding with each other.this constant movement creates large spaces between partials of air and these empty spaces allow air, like other gases, to be compressed.
  3. AIR CAN BE COMPRESSED~ extra air can be squeezed into a container, causing the air pressure inside the container to became greater.
  4. AIR RESISTS BRING COMPRESSED(air resisted)~ although air can be compressed, it resists being compressed into a smaller space.
  5. AIR EXPANDS AND CONTRACTS~
When air molecule are heated they expand. When they are cooled they contract.
  6. AIR IS A FLUID~ Air is a fluid. Just like a liquid, it can be have currents and waves. Air flows over the surface of solid objects such as the wings of an airplane

Q

explain the three types of variables

A

Manipulated variable: The one condition that is changed in a experiment

Controlled variable: The conditions that remain the same in an experiment

Responding variable: The results or the outcome of the experiment

Q

Explain five ways to prove that air exists

A

Air contains oxygen. I know this because fire needs oxygen to burn and the candle that was covered by the glass used up all the oxygen and then the candle went out
