What is the normal CD4 count?
500-1500 cells/mm^3
What is the most important HIV medication to know for NCLEX?
Zidovudine also known as ZDV or Retrovir
What PPE is required for HIV patients?
RN/PN should wear gloves, gown, goggles, mask when in direct contact with blood or body fluids
Ratio for blood cleansing with HIV patients?
1:10 dilution of household bleach (10 parts water to 1 part bleach)
