How does hostile attribution bias affect aggression?
A
- We can interpret other people’s behaviour as hostile
- Think of it as a personal attack which provokes them and they act aggressively as a response

- Study done where men listened to music which was violent or derogatory towards women
- The same men later spoke about women quite negatively
- Shows theory of hostile attribution bias is valid

- We can use our knowledge of the cognitive approach to reduce aggression

A
- Mothers who have hostile attribution bias tend to have children with it
- Seen in children as young as 5 years old
