Left sided heart failure
A
Heart moves blood from lungs to left atrium.
Left Atrium to left ventricle
left ventricle to rest of body
left ventricle is larger due to being hearts pumping power
in heart failure, left side of heart must work harder to pump same amount of blood

Right sided heart failure
A
occurs due to left sided failure
left ventricle fails, increased fluid pressure goes back into lungs damaging hearts right side
right side loses pumping power, blood backs up in bodys veins
causing swelling in legs, abdomen, GI tract and liver (ascites)
