Used for:
1. Peripheral vasoconstriction when cardiac output is adequate
2. To maintain after load in patient with aortic stenosis whose coronary perfusion is compromised by decline in systemic vascular resistance
3. Mydriatic and nasal decongestant
4. Can be used topically to prepare nose for nasal intubation
Onset: rapid
Duration : 5-10 min
Dose:40-100 mcg bolus or infusion 10-20 mcg/ min
