- data must be updated on a regular basis to ensure management has correct information
- all documents by law must be stored for the prescribed period of time
How does the business interpret information
Business need to look at information to identify trends
What is a trend
a general direction in which something is developing or changing
What are trends used for
To base future decisions, the business must be proactive and take corrective measures should a trend be unfavourable to them
What are statistics
Collecting, organising, presenting, analysing and interpreting numerical data to assist in making more effective decisions

For planing, organising, staffing, directing and controlling

Keeping recording of information
