Explain descriptive adjectives
Most commonly used. Describes ‘what kind,’ e.g, the loyal/smart/creative/motivated individual.
Explain proper adjectives
Proper nouns used as adjectives. E.g, the August winds are good for flying kites.
Explain quantitive adjectives
Describes ‘how many’ of something. E.g, Two/three/many/most/some/few children.
Explain adjectives of order
Describes the position of something. E.g, he came /first/second/last in the race.
Explain demonstrative adjectives
Describes ‘which one’ of something. E.g, this/that book; these/those books.
Explain possessive adjectives
Shows to whom something belongs. E.g, My/his/her/their/our/its/your computer.
Explain interrogative adjectives
Describes ‘which one.’ E.g, Which/whose/what lesson did she attend?
Explain compound adjectives
Adjectives joined by hyphens. E.g, a well-deserved result; a feather-light cake; a half-ripe banana.
