Inflammation of the pericardial sac lasting 4-6 weeks

A
Viral - coxsackie
Tuberculosis
Uraemia
Post myocardial infarction
Early days - fibrinous pericarditis
Late (wks-months ) - autoimmune dressler syndrome
Radiotherapy
Connective tissues disease - SLE , RA

Clinical features
A
Chest pain - maybe pleuritic
Not radiating
Relived by sitting forwards
Non productive cough
Flu like symptoms

Diagnosis ?
A
Wide spread ST elevation - ST elevations which are SADDLE SHAPED
PR DEPRESSION MOST SPECIFIC MARKER FOR OERICARDITIS
TRANSTHORACIC ECHO
TROPONIN MILDLY ELEVATED
