Compresses cheek, holds food between teeth during chewing, aids in sucking and blowing

Elevates and retracts mandible
Masseter
Elevates and protracts mandible; prime mover of jaw closure
Medial and lateral pterygoid
Elevate and protract mandible and move it side to side during chewing
Sternocleidomastoid
Both: flexion of head and neck
One: turns head to opposite side of muscle contracting
Splenis capitus
Both: pulls head back, extends and hyperextends
One: turns head to same side
Semispinalis capitus
Both: pulls head back, extends and hyperextends
One: turns head to same side
External intercostals
Elevates ribs during inhalation (move up and out like bucket handle)
Internal intercostals
Depresses ribs during forced exhalation
Diaphragm
Moves inferiorly to expand thoracic cavity
External oblique
Both: compress abdomen, flex vertebral column
One: lateral flexion of vertebral column
Internal oblique
Both: compress abdomen, flex vertebral column
One: lateral flexion of vertebral column
Transverse abdominus
Compresses the abdomen
Rectus abdominus
Flexes vertebral column and compresses abdominal wall, forceful exhalation
Pectoralis minor
Protracts and depresses the scapula (hunch shoulders)
Serratus anterior
Prime mover that protracts and depresses scapula, stabilizes the scapula, and superiorly rotates scapula
