The use of 1 3/4” hose would be INAPPROPRIATE and a company officer SHOULD NOT order it stretched if any of the following conditions exist:
D - The line is expected to be used from a purely defensive position
A - An advanced fire on arrival
L - A large volume of water is required to cool a superheated fire area
L - A large body of fire in a large UNCOMPARTMENTED area
S - When the officer cannot determine the SIZE or extent of the fire or fire area.

Sec. 4.1 - the following situations require WRITTEN notification to the BITS:
I - Incompetence - Any instance of incompetence (I.e., repeated negligent of unsatisfactory performance of duties) so serious that the officer believes disciplinary charges are warranted.
M - Misconduct by a department employee NOT falling w/i the jurisdiction of the IG.
M - Misuse or Misappropriation of the department’s time.
A - Follow-up info regarding the arrest of a member.
C - Charges; preference of charges against a member.

L - Location of fire
