How do acoustic neuromas present?

A
  • 40-60 years old
  • Unilateral sensorineural hearing loss
  • Unilateral tinnitus
  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Sense of fullness in the ear
  • Can be associated with LMN facial palsy

A
  • Audiometry
  • MRI with gadolinium contrast

A
  • Conservative if no symptoms
  • Surgery to remove tumour
  • Radiotherapy to reduce growth of tumour
