Approach Behaviour
A personality which feels the need to achieve, is confident, takes risks and seeks out a challenge
Avoidance Behaviour
A Personality type which has the need to avoid failure, gives up quite easily, lacks confidence and dislikes feedback
Interaction
The combination of the situational and personality factors that decide the levels of achievement motivation
Personality
Psychological characteristics that make a person unique and account for regular patterns in behaviour
Situation
Situation relies on the probability of success, the incentive value, and how familiar the environment is
Positive reinforcement
Using praise and rewards to maintain motivation in performers
Attribute retaining
Telling a player that success is due to them
Task related goals
One way of measuring success, in this way the performer sets his own standards and judges himself off of that. The performer can feel achieved despite the result
Outcome related goals
This type of goal means that a positive outcome is needed to feel achievement, this means that if this outcome is not the result the performer may lose confidence and motivation
