Acetabulum, Inlet and Outlet Flashcards
Acetabulum - AP Oblique - modified Judet Method Projection - External
External rotation:
45 RPO to show right side
45 LPO to show left side
CR: perpendicular
CP: 2” distal, 2” medial to ASIS
Acetabulum - AP Oblique - modified Judet Method Evaluation Criteria - External
Ilioischial column
anterior rim of acetabulum
Both of these are demonstrated for the side closest to the table
should be able to see ilioischial line, anterior acetabular wall, roof of acetabulum and iliac crest
Acetabulum - AP Oblique - modified Judet Method Projection - Internal
Internal Rotation:
45 RPO to show left
45 LPO to show right
CR: perpendicular
CP: 2” to ASIS
Acetabulum - AP Oblique - modified Judet Method Evaluation Criteria - Internal
Iliopubic Column
posterior rim of acetabulum
both of these are demonstrated for the side farthest from the table
should demonstrate iliopectineal line, posterior acetabular wall, acetabular roof and obturator foramen
Acetabulum - Bilateral Județ Method projection
IR: crosswise
CP: 2” distal to ASIS at midline of oblique pelvis
Do both obliques for both sides
Pelvis - AP Axial Outlet - Taylor Method Projection
Patient supine - can use a small sponge under knees
CR: Cephalad
Males - 20-35
Females - 30-45
Practical: 30
CP: 1-2” distal to pubic symphysis
Pelvis - AP Axial Outlet - Taylor Method Evaluation Criteria
Pubis and ischial bones magnified
Superior and inferior rami without foreshortening
pubic bones superimposed over sacrum and coccyx
symmetry
Pelvis - AP Axial Inlet - Bridgeman Method Projection
IR: crosswise
Patient supine - can use a small sponge under their knees
CR: 40 caudad
CP: level of ASIS at midline
Pelvis - AP Axial Inlet - Bridgeman Method Evaluation Criteria
Axial projection of entire pelvic ring
pubic and ischial rami superimposed
symmetry
