What is a Community Sentence? (2 points)
- Also known as a community order or non-custodial sentence is a legal penalty imposed on individuals, but does not involve imprisonment
- Individuals are required to complete various community activities and interventions as a way to address their criminal behaviour
What is Unpaid Work / Community Service? (1 point)
- Required to perform a specific number of hours of unpaid work (40-300 hours) or community service, E.G. cleaning public spaces
What is Probation and Supervision? (1 point)
- Placed under the supervision of a probation officer who monitors their progress, provides support, and ensures compliance with requirements
What are Programmes and Interventions? (1 point)
- Attending and completing specific programmes aimed at addressing the underlying causes of the criminal behaviour, E.G. substance abuse treatment
