What was Abraham’s family life like?
Abraham had a son called Isaac and a wife called Sarah. Sarah could not have children as she was too old so they could not have a son. Though God promised them a son. Sarah gave her servant Hagar to Abraham. Sarah gave birth to Isaac.
What was Ur like?
It was a polytheistic, rich splendid city. Though they sacrificed people to the Gods.
Why was Abraham tested?
God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac on Mount Moriah. Abraham, Isaac, a donkey and servants get to the bottom of the mountain and Abraham leaves the servants and the donkey. Isaac carries up the wood and Isaac asks “where is the sacrifice” and Isaac replies “God will provide”. They build the alter and Abraham puts Isaac on the alter and an angel stops Abraham just before he is about to kill Isaac and says “you have passed the test”. They then see a ram in a bush and sacrifice it instead.
