A

Reliability and validity: 8 participants entered 12 psychiatric hospitals reporting to be hearing voices. Results: all were admitted and diagnosed. When inside, they behaved regularly. They got out from 7 to 50 days. All left with a recovery label. A follow telling to find an impostor: 20 of of 200 were suspected, but none were.

Ethical ethnicity: white psychologists were presented videos of people in therapy and asked to diagnose them. Results show a black person was more likely to be diagnosed as depressed.

A

Depression sloa: interviews of women about particular life events and coping. Results show out of the women who were depressed in the last year 90% had gone through a major life event or difficulty. Also poverty, children and unemployement had an effect.

Individual therapy: 280 patients randomly assigned to four different groups: 1 meds + clinic 2 placebo + clinic 3 cbt 4 ipt treatment. 16 weeks. 50% recovered in therapy and drugs, but only 30% in placebo.
