This refers to cycle lengths that are shorter than 21 days
CAUSES
1. Imperfect follicular development
2. Defective corpus luteum

Hypomenorrhea
A
This is diminished flow or shortening of the days of menstrual flow
CAUSES
1. Anovulation
2. Hymenal obstruction
3. Cervical stenosis
4. Asherman’s syndrome

Menorrhagia/hypermenorrhea
A
This is heavy or prolonged menses occurring at regular intervals
The menses occurs >7 days /
The blood loss is usually > 80mls
