abdominal pn Flashcards
PT has been dx with PID and now is experiencing pn in the URQ
Fitz-hugh-curtis
complication of PID: liver capsule inflammation
pn starts centerally and moves into the RLQ
cc:
- nausea
- vomiting
- INCR WBC
appendicitis
cc:
- fever
- chills
- unilateral inferior abdominal pn: worst at end or after menstruation
dx: culdocentesis
tx: antibiotics
PID
- HCG is present on preg test
- pain in the RLQ
- tender breat
- early morning nausea
ectopic pregnancy
pop: male in a warm climate
- can not find a position of relief
- severe pain with nausea and vomiting
kidney/ ureter stones
pn in flanks to groin
- severe RUQ pn with referral to inferior scap and nausea/ vomiting
- females, DM, Native American, BC
cholelithiasis
pn on FULL stomach, worst with recumbancy
reflux esophagitis
Cc: recurrent pn, felt on an EMPTY stomach
• relieved by antacids, unaffected by position
peptic ulcer
incr p-amylase
pancreatitis
incr AST, ALT, and GGT
Liver failure
incr BUN, creatinine
kidney failure
incr CKM-B, triponine 1
heart failure
Pn worst during menstruation:___
Pn worst at the end of menstruation:___
during: endometriosis
end: PID
- herniation of the mucosa
- lower abdominal pn with low grade fever, bl in stool, and mild leukocytosis
