Process of the gubernaculum (guber for short) guiding the testes to the scrotum

A

Guber grows from the dorsal wall to the testis, epididymus and out of the inguinal ring to attach to the scrotal area.
The dorsal wall attachment breaks down and the remaining guber shrinks, pulling the testis to the body wall near the inguinal ring.
Guber swells forcing the inguinal ring to expand until the testis has room to fall through the inguinal ring.
Guber continues to shrink placing the testis in the scrotum and becoming the proper lig of the testis and the lig of the tail of the epididymus.
