What does CQC stand for?

What is revalidation?
It is a process that professionals must do to renew their registration and continue practicing and ensure that professionals remain competent
What does CPD stand for?
Continuing professional development
What is continuing professional development for?
To keep knowledge and skills up to date.
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding is the protection of an individual from harm, abuse and neglect.
How does the CQC inspect?
They give a 1 day notice then they come into the service and look at all the departments and how service is provided. They may look into the accident book and what actions are taken place. If it is not up to standards, they can ask for improvements to be made and provide an action plan. They can even close down a department if necessary.
Also ensuring correct policies and procedures are put in place
What is whistleblowing?
Procedure of raising concern of a staff or issue by another staff.
What is a multidisciplinary team?
A team of professionals working together such as social workers, doctors, care managers, etc.
What is meant by a holistic approach?
A holistic approach means that it ensures that all needs are met. This includes:
- Physical
- Emotional
- Intellectual
- Social
Why is professionals working together in a multidisciplinary team important?
This is so there is no gaps in care or that care is repeated. This also ensures that there can be a holistic approach to care as different services offer different types of care.
