Social development
the learning of interacting socially with other individuals in both family and society
Solo play
playing independently
Parallel play
playing alongside others but engrossed in own world
Associative play
children participate in the same activity and learn to interact with each other during play time
Cooperative play
playing together to solve a problem or work on a project to achieve shared results (take turns and play in small groups)
Peer pressure
the influence members of a peer group can have on an individual
Formal relationships
relationships between people who are not related or friends, such as colleagues or teacher and pupil
Informal relationships
relationships within families and loved ones
Independence
involves doing things for oneself and making decisions without relying on others
