A320/A319 ECAM SYS PAGES Flashcards
What are displayed on the ENG SYS Page on the Lower SD?
Engines Secondary Parameters.
What happens if there is an N1 exceedence?
If 104% N1 is exceeded
a red index mark appears &
remains at the maximum value achieved.
It will disappear after:
- a new engine start,
on the ground, or
- after MOC action via MCDU.
What dictates what
‘Thrust Limit Mode’
e.g. TOGA, FLX, CL, MCT or MREV
is displayed in the top right corner of
the ECAM Upper E/WD?
The position of whichever
Thrust Lever
is Farther Forward.
N1 Rating Limit.
Displayed in GREEN.
How is this computed?
Computed by FADEC
for the present Thrust Lever Angle.
On Ground/Engines Running:
Flex mode selected;
displays Flex N1 thrust levers below FLX/MCT.
No Flex selected:
displays TOGA thrust limit
regardless of TLA.
Actual EGT is represented by a
Needle & also a digital readout on the
EGT Dial.
It is usually displayed in GREEN,
What makes it change to Amber/Red?
-It Pulses AMBER above 915ºC
(except for high power ops; FLX, MCT, TOGA, A/FLOOR)
- It pulses AMBER above 725ºC during Eng Start
- It pulses RED above 950ºC &
the digital value becomes RED.
How is MAX EGT displayed on the EGT dial?
Max EGT is displayed as
AN AMBER INDEX.
- appears at 725ºC during engine start.
- Then at 915ºC thereafter.
How is the Max Permissible EGT
represented on the EGT Dial?
As a RED ARC
beginning at 950ºC
to the END of the scale.
This value of 950ºC is also known as the
EGT Red Line.
What is an EGT exceedance?
If the EGT goes over 950ºC,
a RED INDEX MARK
appears at its maximum value achieved.
It disappears after:
- a new take-off, or
- after MOC action via MCDU
What is N2?

and
a Four-Stage LP Compressor
connected to
a Four-Stage LP Turbine
During Start Sequence,
what happens to the N2 HP Rotor Speed
Display?
The background turns grey.
Why would the N2 indication turn RED?
When N2 > 105%
The indication turns RED
and a RED CROSS appears next to it.
How would you know the N2 value was
degraded?
(ie if both N2 sensors fail)
The last digit of the digital display
is AMBER &
it is dashed.
When does the IDLE indication appear on the
ECAM UPPER E/WD
and how is it displayed?

How is this displayed?
Appears in AMBER if
any 1 Blocker Door is unstowed or unlocked
It changes to GREEN when
ALL 4 Blocker Doors are fully Deployed.
(if a door unlocks in flight,
the indication first flashes for 9 Secs
then remains steady.)

FUEL USED indication.
When does this reset?
It resets when;
On GROUND &
the ENG Starts (MASTER Switch ON)
It is frozen at its last value when
the engine shuts down.
FUEL USED indication.
If the last two digits are dashed,
what does this mean?
Fuel Used Indication is

<16 PSI - Indications PULSE
When >20 PSI - STOP PULSING.
<13 PSI indications RED + ECAM Warning (RED)

CLOG captions,
may appear below which ENG Dials?
What does this mean?

OIL TEMPERATURE
What will make the indications pulse?
Exceeds;
140ºC the value begins to PULSE
goes below 135ºC - STOPS PULSING
OIL TEMPERATURE
What will trigger the ECAM alert
