What is Locus of Control?
The extent to which individuals believe how much control they have over their lives.
What is INTERNAL Locus of Control?
People that possess this personality type believe they have control and are responsible for things that happen to them.
What is EXTERNAL Locus of Control?
People that possess this personality type believe that what happens to them is out of their control.
Examples of internal locus of control.
If one is injured, they will believe they have the power to aid their recovery.
Example of external locus of control.
If one is injured, one will blame everyone but themselves.
What is a strength of locus of control?
There are practical applications of using the locus of control theory.
What is the weakness of locus of control?
Rotters’ method of measuring locus of control can be criticised due to using a questionnaire. They may lie to look better.
