Plane joint
Flat or slightly curved joints.
Permit back-and-forth and side-to-side movements between the flat surface of bones, but can also rotate against each other.

Convex surface of one bone fits into the concave of another bone
Produce angular movement much like a hinged door

Round surface of bone articulates with a ring formed partly by another bone and a ligament

The convex oval shaped projection of one bone fits into the oval shaped depression of another bone.
