How is the Ukraine/Russia border contested?
- fighting over Crimea which has Sevastopol port which gives either country more control in the sea.
- Sevastopol also home to Russia’s naval fleet
- Recently Ukraine and Russia have been at war as Russia want Ukraine part of Russia again to reduce power of UN as Ukraine was going to join, threat to Russia
- Contested due to land
Why is Taiwan not recognised as a nation state?
- Island off mainland China which China claim to still be part of even though it is independent
- Different views China= communist Taiwan= Democracy
- natural border between of the sea
- can create disagreements
