What shall alternate fuel include?

A

500kg for the go around

Q

Define VFR

A

Variable fuel reserve to account for unexpected increased fuel consumption. VFR shall be 10% of planned flight fuel to a maximum of 2000kg.

Q

Define FFR

A

Fixed fuel reserve to allow holding for 30 mins at holding speed 1500ft above airfield elevation. A conservative value of 3000kg can be used as the FFR.

Q

Define contingency fuel and when it is required?

A

Contingency fuel permits the plane to descend following an engine failure or depressurisation and proceed to the nearest adequate airfield, assuming the event happens at the most critical point.
It is only required if the minimum amount of fuel calculated for the flight doesn’t allow such an event.

Q

Define isolated airfield fuel and what it negates

A

The fuel required to hold for 2 hours, up to a maximum of 9000kg. Holding isolated airfield fuel negates the need to hold FFR, alternate fuel and holding fuel.
