86WG SI(OPS) 03-102 SOP Flashcards
Define critical phases of flight
Taxi, T/O, approach and landing
Ops below 10000ft with seat belt sign illuminated
AAR: during TKR or RCVR ops when seat belt sign illuminated
Form: form ops within 500ft vertical or one mile lateral separation.
During crit phases of flight, sterile cockpit procs are to be used under direction of aircraft captain. What restrictions should be observed?
- Flight crew restrict activities and comms to operational matters only.
- cabin crew not to contact or enter cockpit unless for safety or essential operations issues
Define no contact periods (from cabin to cockpit)
Departure: power application at start of takeoff roll to landing gear retraction
Arrival: from landing gear extension until aircraft stops after landing or turns off the active RWY.
When are flight crew required to have shoulder harnesses fastened?
Ops below 10k with seatbelt signs illuminated, during turbulence and during receiver AAR.
Recommend to wear them whenever in a control seat.
What is to be primary GPS source unless directed otherwise?
CIV GPS
When should the PF guard the flight controls? (Side stick and thrust levers)
Anytime not in CONF 0 during approach or departure.
TKR AAR: when receiver inside the astern position.
When speed brakes deployed, guard the speed brake lever.
Under what weather conditions should automation be used to its maximum for approach?
When ceiling within 200ft or vis within 2000m of intended approach minima.
Weather close to minima: AC captain is to plan to be PF for all approaches when?
Ceiling within 200ft or vis within 2000m of approach minima. Unless specific training under QFI/OFI supervision
2D approaches: to be flown using continuous descent technique unless circling. Missed approach to be initiated at what height?
MDA + 50ft
Not required to add 50ft to circling minima
Turbulence: what should flight crew advise cabin crew of with respect to anticipated turbulence?
Expected Intensity, time and duration.
What buffers must be applied to forecast volcanic ash zones?
Who can approve flight within buffer zone?
Who can approve flight within forecast volcanic ash zone?
- 5000ft vertically and/or
- 60NM laterally
