Q

If one ND is lost during a CAT 3 approach, do we continue the approach?

A
  • If ND fails below 1000 ft AGL On a CAT III Approach, it is not mandatory to GA.
  • Above 1000 ft AGL:
Display Unit failure is covered under eQRH EIS Display Unit Failure and therefore constitutes a
    ‘Local Caution’.
In the case of: Amber caution (single chime), or Landing capability degradation (Triple Click).

Q

Is departure allowed with following TDZ/MID/END RV conditions?
350m/125m/100 when LVP in force?

A

No. (all need to be minimum 125m)
Yes. CAT I with exception: Company has approval for A320 CAT I & CAT II operations to DEL RWY 10/28 and CCU RWY 19L/01R without considering the relevance of stop-end VR. Flaps FULL and autobrake MED is mandatory.

Q

What are the Take-off minima (RV and VIS) requirements with LVP in force/ not in force?

A

LVP not in force:
RV not available = 800m (Vis) RVR available = 550m (RVR)

LVP in force:
RVR available = 400m (non LVTO Pilots) 3 RVR available = 150m (LVTO Pilots) Centreline lights 30M Spacing) 3 RV available 125m (LVTO Pilots) Centreline lights 15M Spacing)

Q

What is the minima required under various conditions?

A

The required take-off minima are:
LVP not enforced + RVR not available = Take-off minima 800m (Vis) LVP not enforced + RV available = Take-off minima 550m (RVR)
LVP enforced + RV available = Take-off minima 400m (non LVTO Pilots) LVP enforced + RV available (No Centreline lights) = Take-off minima 300m (LVTO Pilots) LVP enforced + RVR available+ Centreline lights = Take-off minima 200m (LVTO Pilots)
LVP enforced + 3 RVR available + Centreline lights (30M Spacing) = Take-off minima 150m = (LVTO Pilots) LVP enforced + 3 RVR available + Centreline lights (15M Spacing) = Take-off minima 125m (LVTO Pilots)

Q

During CAT I|/II1 practice approach and Autoland, what should be inserted in the BARO/RADIO?

A

CAT II/III minima should be inserted in the RADIO field for a practice autoland.

While practicing a CAT I1/Ill approach and autoland in CAT I conditions the “100 Above” and “Minimum” callouts need to be made by 1 PM/CM2.
Visual references should be obtained at altitude appropriate for the CAT I approach.
