how to define data access in a model
- go to ‘Dimension Settings’ property of model
- enable ‘Data Access Control’ for ‘Rights/Access’
- Select the dimt
- go to ‘Member details’, choose ‘Read/Write’ access for users
if model has a privacy set so only certain roles can view, what do you do for data level security?
you need to have the role include the data access levels

- it’s passed to the lower nodes
- if another access is defined on a lower node, that access would be used

- if a dim has a data access enabled, the access filter will be based on top of this filter

steps to apply model-based privacy settings (11)
- Open a model
- go to Model Preferences
- Access and Privacy tab
- in Data Access, enable Model Data Privacy
- Save model
- go to Navigation Bar > Security > Roles
- select Assign Users user Planner Reportr found in Planning Standard
- Select Model > Select New Model
- Add Read Access/ Define Write Access
- Add attributes
- Ok and Save
