8. Technical Analysis Flashcards
What are the eight (8) factors affecting Technical Analysis?
- Objectives
- Location and Site
- Plant Size
- Technology
- Design, Layout, Plant, & Machinery
- Construction Process
- Infrastructural Facilities
- Manpower
Project proposal will depend on two (2) sectors on the stated mission of investors and enablers.
- Private Sector
2. Public Sector
This should be identified as many as possible which meet the most fundamentally operational requirements of proposed projects.
Location and Site
Considered appropriate only if it is assessed to be satisfactory and relevant; vis-a-vis the following aspects.
Technology
Any under utilization of its capacity mean either reduced pofits or, for levels below Break Even point ot losses.
Plant Size
To design a viable operating entity which not only works, but works harmoniously in relation to be stipulated inputs and local environment.
Design, Layout, Plant, & Machinery
What are the four (4) factors under Location and Site?
- Criteria of Material vs Market Orientation
- Quality Standards
- Infrastructural Status, Local Laws
- Socio-economic and Living Conditions
These relate to the operational phase of project, but need to be identified to examine the technical easibility of the proposed system/s.
Inputs
Availability and characteristics of roads, bridges, railway facilities, air transportations, waterways, port, etc.
Infrastructural Facilities
Availability in needed numbers, of manpower of requisite skills where and when required, has to be studied.
Manpower
One of the things to consider in Location and Site is the Local _________ and its Impact on Plant and Equipment and their Operations.
Climate
TRUE OR FALSE?
Political structure is one of the other things to consider in Location and Site.
False
The first question to ask in cosidering Technology, “Is the technology available as a technical _________ or through a technical ____________, or a joint venture?
- knowhow
- collaboration
Under the Construction Process, the recommended sequence and time schedule of different activities are in the form of bar chart or _______ network.
PERT
What are the six (6) essential inputs in Technical Analysis?
- raw materials
- processed materials
- components and sub-assemblies
- spares and wear & tear parts
- water and steam
- gas, fuel, and electricity
