What is a sign that your buccinator is not working well?
Food cannot stay between the molars and the food drops into the side of your cheek and must be removed with a finger

There is less than 15 degrees of hinging and more than 15 degrees of anterior sliding
Describe dislocation of the TMj: how does it typically dislocate?
Dislocates anteriorly and can pop into the temporal fossa and tears up the joint capsule

There is a possible V3 injury; which would cause issues with mastication and problems with sensory to the mandibular portion of the face
What happens when there is a fracture at the red or green lines? (fracture of the ramus or a fracture of the corpus)
can injure the inferior alveolar vessel and nerve
What muscles are involved in elevation of the mandible?
Temporalis, masseter, medial pterygoids
What muscles are involved in depression of the mandible?
Lateral pterygoids, suprahyoid, and infrahyoid
What muscles are involved in protrusion of the mandible?
Lateral pterygoids, masseter, and medial pterygoids
What muscles are involved in retrusion of the mandible
temporalis, masseter
What muscles are invovled in the lateral movements of the madible?
Ipsilateral temporalis and the masseter, contralateral pterygoids
