  • Casseating, necrotic, acellular inside of granuloma with walled off, cellular outside, circular.
    -IFN gamma is critical in recruiting and maintaining macrophages around the periphery of the granuloma.
    IFN gamma is secreted by T helper cells. TNF alpha is secreted by macrophages to recruit monocytes to become histiocytes and wall off the granuloma.
