- to intend to do something (unlike 아/어 주다- ask to give sth)
- can be followed up with 으세요/을래요?/ㄹ까요? (orders, requests)
- cannot use 았/었 and 겠
(남은 음식을 포장해다가 집에서 먹었어요)

• 으며 can be attached to verb, adjective, noun
  (수지는 가수며 배우다 = indicates she has both qualifications)
• can use with 았/었 and 겠
  (오겠으며/오며, 마셨으며)
• cannot use more than 1 (으)며 in a sentence
• cannot use with 자, 아/어라 (order, request)
• used mostly in formal situations or written language
