7.7 EWIS Flashcards
What is continuity testing.
Carried out to verify that electrical connections are configured in accordance with the wiring diagram.
Tests for:
- there is a electrical link between two or more designated points
- the resistance of the link is within a specified value.
Purpose of insulation testing.
Identify current leakage and faulty or damaged insulation.
What does bonding and bonding testing do.
Ensures the safe path for current flow or return path for the system to complete the circuit.
Ensures all components have the same potential to ground.
Pros of an analogue multimeter
Does not need a battery.
Cheaper to purchase.
Easier to see slight fluctuations in volts and current.
Less prone to temperature errors.
Cons of an analogue multimeter.
Larger + bulkier.
Tend to be less accurate due to human error.
Cannot hold a display for easier reading later.
What do the first two numbers give in the ATA 100 system.
Give the system/chapter identification
What does the 3rd number give in the ATA 100 system.
The section
What does the 4th number in the ATA100 system give.
The sub-section.
What do the 5th and 6th numbers give in the ATA100 system?
The subject.
How many member countries are in the ISO
156
What benefits do ISO standards offer?
Easier trade between countries.
Aid in transferring tech to countries.
Serve to safeguard consumers and users.
Who developed the AN system
(Airforce navy) the US military
What does a schematic show
Shows the plan and function for an electrical circuit.
But is not concerned with the physical layout and in-depth detail of the wires.
What does a wiring diagram show?
Shows how wires are connected and where they are located in the actual system, component or module, as well as the physical connections between all the components and modules tha make up the system.
