767 Warnings Flashcards
What are the 4 types of aural alerts?
Bell - Used for fire warnings. Sounds repeatedly until crew action initiated.
Beeper - Tone sounds 4 times in 1 sec. Used for all system caution messages.
Siren - used to annunciate cabin altitude, configuration, autopilot and overspeed warning alerts.
Voice - used to annunciate time critical warning alert conditions(ex: traffic, windshear)
When does the Aural Warning Siren sound?
along with the red master warning light, ALTITUDE> 10,000'. Plus, overhead Red CABIN ALT& Red CABIN ALT on fwd panel CONFIG T/O CONFIG LDG OVERSPEED Autopilot disconnect
What causes a T/O CONFIG?
Either thrust lever in the T/O range and:
Parking brake set
Stabilizer not in the green band
Speedbrake lever not down
Flaps not in the T/O range
(Plus you get an EICAS message indicating the problem)
How can you cancel a T/O warning?
Siren can only be canceled by retarding the thrust levers or correcting the problem.
How long will the EICAS message annunciating the T/O CONFIG remain on display?
10sec. This allows the crew to identify the reason for the T/O CONFIG siren.
When are the T/O CONFIG warnings inhibited?
At rotation.
What causes the siren for the LDG CONFIG?
In flight, with any gear not down and locked and either:
and flaps in landing position 25/30 “or”
thrust lever at idle when RA
When does the OVERSPEED warning activate?
airspeed has exceeded Vmo/Mmo. Also, get a EICAS OVERSPEED warning. All warnings remain active till airspeed reduces below Vmo/Mmo
How do you cancel the autopilot disconnect warning?
Pressing either control column A/P disconnect switch. This cancels the Siren, EICAS message and red A/P DISC light on the fwd panel.
What indications do you get with a WINDSHEAR warning?
A red master warning light, 2 tone siren followed by “windshear”, red WINDSHEAR on both PFD’s and red windshear light on the fwd panel.
At what altitude is the winshear system operative?
1500’ agl RA
What are the four categories of system alert messages?
time critical
warning
caution
advisory
How are EICAS messages categorized?
Warning - red
Cautionary - amber
Advisory - indented amber
Pushing the Master warning/Caution switch silences both the siren and fire bell for all conditions except the following?
T/O CONFIG(must correct the condition) LDG CONFIG(must correct the condition or push the gear override switch) Autopilot switch(push control column switch to cancel) Overspeed warning(reduce to below Vmo/Mmo
When are the Master warning and fire bell inhibited on T/O?
From rotation until 400’ or 20 seconds, whichever occurs first.
When are the caution lights inhibited during T/O?
Begin at 80Kts. and continues to 400’AGL or 20 seconds.
When does the altitude alerter illuminate?
900’ prior to reaching selected altitude. It then extinguishes at 300’ prior to reaching target altitude.
When deviating from target altitude what annunciations are present?
When deviations of 300’ or greater exists the master caution, EICAS caution message “ALTITUDE ALERT” and altitude alert lights illuminate. Also, get caution beeper.
When will previous lights and beeper extinguish?
When deviating >900’ or returning to of target altitude.
What are the 7 GPWS modes?
- excessive descent rate(2450’)
- excessive terrain closure rate
- altitude loss after T/O
- unsafe terrain clearance when not in the landing configuration
- excessive deviation below glideslope
- altitude callouts
- windshear
