767 Hydraulics Flashcards
What does the system pressure light mean?
The System pressure is low.
What does the QTY/RSVR light mean?
The reservoir is half full.
What do the pump PRESS light mean?
HYD pump pressure is low.
What does the OVHT light mean?
HYD pump temperature is high.
Which center electric HYD pump is load shed and when?
The # 2 pump is shed with only one power source.
When does the ADP HYD pump operate when in the auto position?
It operates with low center system pressure or in anticipation of high demand loads.(ex: gear and flap operation)
When do the L/R electric demand pumps operate in the auto position?
When primary system pressure is low.
How is each HYD reservoir pressurized?
Its respective Bleed air system.
What items are on the Left HYD System?
Aileron Rudder Elevator L Reverser Rudder Ratio Stab trim via the PES Spoilers Servos
What items are on the Center HYD System?
Aileron Rudder Elevator Landing Gear Flaps and Slats HDG Nose Wheel Steering Alternate Brakes Stab Trim Spoilers Servos RAT
What items are on the Right HYD System?
Ailerons Rudder Elevator Normal Brakes Pitch Enhancement System R Reverser Spoilers Servos
What HYD system is the normal brake system located?
Right
What HYD system is the Alternate brake system located?
Center
What hydraulic system is the Reserve brake system located?
Center via the C1 electric pump.
Which brake systems have anti-skid?
All, individual skid protection for the normal and accumulator. Paired wheels for alternate and reserve brake systems.
What happens to the brake system with a loss of the right HYD system?
The alternate brake system automatically takes over. There is no notice that this has happened.
What happens if the alternate brake system now fails?
If the center reservoir drops below standpipe the isolation valves close and the Reserve Brake system via the C1 electric pump.
What is the RAT?
Ram Air Turbine - it can power the center flight controls only.
When does the RAT arm?
Arms at 80 knots.
When does the RAT deploy?
Automatically with a loss of both engines or manually by pressing the switch.
When does the HDG operate?
The loss of both main AC busses.
What is the PES?
Pitch enhancement system. Provides stab trim backup if both L and C hydraulic systems fail.
How does the PES work?
It uses the R HYD system to run a motor that uses trapped L hydraulic system fluid to move the stab trim.
How fast does the PES move the stab trim?
1/4 rate
How do you actuate the PES?
Electric control column switches(alternate and automatic inop) thus no autopilot trimming.
Why is there a a huge penalty with the ADP inop?
Because, with the loss of an engine during take off you can’t get the gear and flaps up to maintain the 2.4% climb gradient.
When is the ADP inhibited?
With wing anti-ice.
What type of power is used for the ADP?
DC power and automatically powered when the HDG is running.
Degree of rudder pedal and tiller steering?
rudder-7 degrees, tiller-65 degrees
Turn radius of a 767-200 and 767-300?
200-129’ and 300-146’
How is the L, C, and R hydraulic system fluid cooled?
L system fluid cooled via left fuel system. C & R system fluid cooled via the right fuel system.
What is the electric power source for the L & R electric HYD pump?
L- R main AC bus
R- L main AC bus
So a loss of an engine does not result on a loss of same side electric pump.
Which brake system will autobrakes operate?
Normal only. No right HYD system pressure no autobrakes.
How is HYD fluid measured?
In percentage.
What is the minimum HYD quantity?
No number, only a magenta RF(refill) indicates 75% remaining.
