When a call is holding at the 60 minute mark, Dispatch will notify the area sergeant. What will the area sergeant do in response?

A

Once a sergeant has been advised of calls holding in excess of 60 minutes, the area sergeant will monitor the call in question. If the call continues to hold in excess of 90 mintues, it is the responsibilty of the area sergeant to contact the person reporting and advises of the extended delay and/or offer other possible resolutions, i.e., hold for next available unit or request a unit from a neighboring area to assist.

For a call holding where there is a person in custody, after being notified by Dispatch at the 60 minute mark, a supervisor will?

A

At the time of notification, the area sergeant will make every effort for a unit to be dispatched to the call. If the call is still holding at the 90 minute mark the sergeant will contact the PR and will dispatch a vehicle, barring any exigent circumstances.
