6.5.1 Practical Investigation Flashcards
Aim
To investigate whether there are differences in the number of participants who respond correctly/incorrectly when asked a leading question compared to those asked a non leading question.
IV
- Non leading (what was policeman holding?)
- Leading (what hand was policeman holding magnifying glass in?)
DV
Number of correct answers for leading or non leading question about identification.
Which tail?
1, past research shows there will be a sig difference.
Experimental
Individuals given a leading question will have significantly less recall of the correct object compared to those with a non leading question.
Null
There will be no significant difference in accuracy of recall of the correct object between those given a leading question and those given a non leading question. Any difference found will be due to chance.

- Can be replicated to check findings consistency
Procedure Weakness
Validity

- May not show memory if real life situation
Results
