Extroversion/Introversion
If someone is an extrovert they are sociable, like parties and don’t like to be alone. Like to take risks, crave excitement and are impulsive.
If someone is an introvert they have less friends but deeper relationships, enjoy a structured orderly life.
Neuroticism/Stability
Neurotic people tend to be anxious, have low self esteem, depressed, irrationality.
Psychoticism
Aggression, coldness, antisocial behaviour, lack of empathy.
Normal balance
Even E, N and low P.
Develop from socialisation
- Child is conditioned
- Learns sense of right and wrong
- Avoids punishable behaviour
- Controls own impulses
The hardest personality type to condition
Neurotic extroverts - don’t learn as easy as children, resistant to early socialisation, harder to divert away from thrill of crime
Biological element - P
- Excess dopaminergenic neutrons which send an over production of dopamine, loss of inhibition of impulses so more likely to do assault to rape

- Under arousal in CNS
- RAS restricts stimuli
-Stronger dopamine reward system, respond well to sex and money

- ANS (parasympathetic and sympathetic) are controlled by limbic system
- Overactive sympathetic
