Levels of unruly passenger (6.11.3)
Level 1 - disruptive behavior = unacceptable language / behavior to crew, suspicious behavior, inappropriate behavior.
Level 2 - physically abusive behavior = towards crew, tampering with any emergency or safety equipment or other property of airline, deliberately damaging any part of Ac, smoking, breach of security.
Level 3 - life threatening behavior = threat, display or use of a weapon, physical or sexual assault with the intent to injure
Level 4 - attempted or actual breach flight crew compartment
Unaccompanied checked (hold) baggage - BPC 6.6.32
Beyond passenger control -
- gate changed within the last 4hrs
- connecting time of pax less than 60min.
Hold luggage always offloaded (also within BPC criteria) 6.6.32
- baggage of UM/AVIH/DEPA,DEPU and PRM passengers
- pax with hold luggage that leave the ac voluntarily for any reason including: medical, unruly, offload on kmar of klm security instructions.
- pax that have been stopped by border control.
Rush / expedite baggage 6.6.32
- may only be loaded when the history of baggage is known and is rescreened
- unaccompanied baggage from other carrier —> written statement that baggage has been subjected to security checks.
DEPA 6.6.25
Deportee ACCOMPANIED by an escort

Deportee UNACCOMPANIED by an escort
INAD 6.6.25
INADMISSIBLE pax is a person who has been refused entry into a country by the authorities of that country.
Security search objective 6.6.4
To ensure that no unauthorized personnel or suspicious/prohibited items are on board of the Ac.
In case a suspicious object is found, it is emphasized that it must not be touched until assessment has been made.
Security search vs transit search 6.6.5
Ss = no pax on board
Ts = pax remain on board and at least one pax disembarks.
Security search rules 6.6.5
Performed prior pax boarding (except flight deck)
May be performed while cleaning staff and other ground personnel are on board, provided that these personnel and their items carried are supervised by crew.
Ss diversion / fuel stop 6.6.7
In case of a scheduled fuel stop or diversion and all pax remain on board: no SS is needed.
Transit search procedure 6.6.12
- pax remaining must identify their baggage
- take personnel belongings and place them on your lap
- overhead bins must be checked
- seat pockets will be checked
- unidentified baggage shall be regarded as suspicious.
- TS and fuelling not at the same time!!!
Access to Ac only permitted to persons who; 6.6.13
A valid boarding card
Valid crew ID worn visibly
Valid airport ID worn visibly.
Diplomatic pouches/mail 6.6.15
If the seals of diplomatic pouches/mail are not intact, the cpt shall contact KLM security service who shall contact relevant local authorities.
Human organs, blood plasma and essential medical supplies 6.6.19
May be carried on board without being subjected to security measures other than the careful checking of documents accompanying the shipments and confirmation from the agency dispatching them.
Weapons and ammunition 6.6.20
Unloaded firearms or weapons must be carried as checked hold luggage.
Exception = escorting a member of dutch royal family, dutch prime minister or foreign heads of state.
Flight deck door 6.6.22
Closed and locked prior to engine start.
May be unlocked and opened after any external ac door is opened for disembarkation.
Boarding procedure DEPA/DEPU 6.6.26
Klm nor cpt is responsible for depa depu reaching its dest.
- local authority will bring deportee to the ac
- cpt will be briefed on likelihood of pax becoming disruptive
- travel docs to cpt or with escort
- seating: rearmost seats of Ac. NOT at aisle, exit or next to UM.
Amount of DEPU/DEPA 6.6.28
Code 1/2/3
1-5 deportees = 0 (1/2) or 2 (3)
6-10 deportees= 2 (1/2) or 2 (3)
11-12 deportees = 3 escorts.
Deportees under 12 are not counted at a number.
ACC / LOS, at least 2 escorts with 3 male deportees or more.
In case of diversion inform station about deportees 6.6.29
- name / DEPA or DEPU
- seat nr
- routing to final dest
- reason deportation
- KLM station of transfer.
INAD 6.6.30
Klm is responsible. Has priority over other pax.
EAC change 6.7.11
Emergency Access Code may be changed when the VP security services and the nominated person of flight ops and crew training consider it necessary. tHe EAC will be distributed to flight crew only.
Bomb threat classifications 6.8.2
Red = threat is of a nature which permits identification of a specific target.
Amber = one or more targets but where there is doubt about its credibility or about the effectiveness of existing countermeasures.
Green = too vague and does not identify a target.
