After landing:
Cabin crew and passengers - remain seated OR
Evacuate aircraft.
Preparation cabin (time available) consist of 2 parts 4.4.2
- Instructions for all pax; given by PU via PAS - using preparation directive
- Instructions for individual pax; given by each CA in their area with the use of preparation checklist
Preparation flight crew in emergency 4.4.3
- stow loose equipment
- personal prep: remove sharp objects, have flashlight readily available, have PBE readily available, put on life vest in case of ditching.
Steps taken in cabin after announcement of emergency 4.4.4
- PU inform other CA
- Switch on all lights, switch off IFE, internet and power supply
- PU announce cabin attendants to take their demonstration positions
- PU lets cpt know so he can start explanation to px (can be delegated to PU if necessary)
- PU continues announcement
Preparation directive 4.4.6
- inform CA: what, when, where
- PU: switch all lights on
- Switch off IFE, internet, in seat power
- Order CAs; take your demonstration positions
- Notify cpt that inform pax is started
- Inform pax
Post evacuation 4.7.1
- Assemble crew / pax at safe distance
- Search for people that may have left the side
- Check injuries
- Evaluate situation.
Use of first aid oxygen 4.8.6
- Inform PU and flight crew
- Recline seat back
- Loosen tight clothing.

Smoke 4.9.1
1.use PBE
2. Use a wet towel or cloth and keep over nose and mouth
3. Keep flight deck door closed
4. Put airco on a higher setting.
Fire 4.9.2
Essentials = oxygen, heat and fuel.
Solids fire - smothering (curtain/halon), cooling (water/coffee, soft drink etc), separate fuel from fire.
Electrical fire - switch off device + halotron
DG fire - extinguish with halotron
CAa (attack) 4.9.5
- Alarm CAb
- Obtain extinguisher, gloves and PBE
- Identify source
- Use PBE in case of smoke
- Extinguish fire
- Identify cause of problem
- Monitor for re ignition
CAb (buddy) 4.9.5
- Alarm CAc about nature problem
- Obtain additional firs fighting equipment
- Remove oxygen bottles, PBE units, and baggage from vicinity
- Use PBE in case of smoke or fumes
- Support CAa during fire fighting
CAc (communication) 4.9.5

- PA announcement to inform necessary steps are in progress
- Relocate pax away from fire area
- Use PBE in case of smoke/fumes

Fire: - size of fire

Concealed fire (compartment or behind panels) 4.9.7
- CAa approaches, feel panel/area (back of hand) and look for signs of smoke)
- warmer than normal: place halon in position
- stay behind compartment door
- slowly and slightly open compartment door
- still flames: extinguish again
- consider cooling with water
Hot cup heating 4.9.8
- Switch off electrical power
- Disconnect hot cup
- Leave hot cup to cool down in air. Never use water.
Oven fire 4.9.9
- CAa approaches the fire
- Switch off galley main power
- Keep oven door closed
- Place halon in position
- Stay behind the oven door
- Carefully and slowly open door
- Positively identify source of fire
- Flames present: discharge halon
- Close door immediately after
- Check and repeat discharge.
Lavatory smoke detection alarm 4.9.10
- CAa approaches
- Put on PBE before enter
- Stay low to the floor
- Halon in position
- Stay behind lavatory door
- Slowly and slightly open door
- Identify source of fire
- Flames: discharge halon
- Close door immediately
- Eliminate cause of alarm!!
Lithium battery fire/smoke 4.9.12
- CAa approaches
- Unplug device (if possible)
- Place halon in position
- Discharge halon in base fire
- Do not transport/pick up device
- Check and repeat discharge
- Cool down with water
- Keep in container
- Monitor device frequently.
