5.2.3 Entropy Flashcards
1
Q
Define entropy.
A
The entropy of a system is a measure of the disorder (chaos) in it. The more entropy it has, the more disordered it is.
2
Q
Which one is the most disordered, gas, liquid or solid?
A
Gas.
3
Q
What would happen to the entropy if the reactant is a solid but the products are gases?
A
There is an increase in disorder and therefore an increase in entropy.
4
Q
Can entropy reactions be feasible?
A
Yes.
